DIGITAL BLUS 009 - NOTION FEAT. DAVE OWEN - WOEFUL / CHERISHED WORDS - OUT NOW!!!!
NotioN, whose tracks have been heard around the world since 2007 follows up their initial 2010 release on Urban Chemistry Recordings (No One Quite Like You/Someone's) with another duo for the growing Digital Blus, sister label to Blu Saphir Recordings – Woeful and Cherished Words (featuring Dave Owen).
Dave Owen is a new face to the drum 'n bass artist scene. With past releases on Sum's iQ Entertainment, Peer Pressure Digital and now Digital Blus, this man will definitely be one to watch in upcoming years
DIGIBLUS009
A. NotioN - Woeful
B. NotioN (feat. Dave Owen) – Cherrished Words
The ninth release on Digital Blus brings forth a pair of bass-driven dancefloor tunes. Woeful is an upbeat, bassy track that builds from its' genesis, integrating dubbed up, techy lines and a straight driving feel the whole way through, while Cherished Words offers more of a focus on the melody and vocal. A muted trumpet riff rings its way through alongside a plethora of synthesized melodies, leaving just enough room for vocal to make its' presence felt.
Support: Random Movement, Flaco, Stunna, Edward Oberon and many more

DIGITAL BLUS 008 - CUTWORKS - INTERMISSION EP
CUTWORKS – INTERMISSION EP–DIGIBLUS008
Cutworks from Russia is a new producer bursting in on the scene, but already he has many accomplishments under his belt. In addition to releases on Fokuz, Covert Operations and Golden Orb, the shining star has tracks also featured on Good Looking and DJ SS' “World of Drum & Bass – Russia” compilation.
DIGIBLUS009 – CUTWORKS – THE INTERMISSION EP
A. EXILE
B. HER SMILE
C. INTERMISSION
D. MIDDLE PROSPECT
The Intermission EP is a foursome of very flavorful but different tracks. Exile is a piano-ridden, upbeat little gem with a very blissful bassline and luscious sax riffs. Her Smile rolls it out a bit deeper with melodic pads and articulate drums.
The title track, Intermission definitely takes the trophy though. Technically sound drums crescendo and decrescendo throughout the track alongside a progressive piano riff. Watch out for the drop though! This one's gonna take ya straight through the cold winter. Reminded of nights by the fire cuddled up with that special someone, sipping hot cocoa and roasting marshmallows. Oh how it makes me feel!
The EP finishes up with Middle Prospect, a varied tempo track with its share of upbeat sections and melodic breaks. A simplified vocal supports the low-end bass while showing the world how much talent this upcoming producer has.

DIGITAL BLUS 006 - DJ CLART - THESE WORDS / TRY TO GET AWAY
As autumn approaches, Digital BluS gears up for the new season with a handful of high quality, unique, and moving music - sure to captivate the body and mind. This time, the Blu Saphir camp is proud to present two new tracks from London's own Dj Clart - a producer whose ermerging talent and ingenuity has quickly put him on the map as one of the most anticipated new artists of this year.
DigiBlus006
A. DJ Clart - These Words
B. DJ Clart - Try To Get Away
These Words:
"These Words" kicks off with a filtered funk guitar sample, which lightly hints of a dancefloor explosion that lurks ahead. When the track drops, it is with great force and sheer intensity, while at the same time being tempered by a thick bassline and massive funk rinseout. Clart's unique bass style combined with a carefully placed vocal polish off the tune for a very unique and remarkable interplay of soft and heavy.
DJ CLART - THESE WORDS (DIGIBLUS006) by BLU SAPHIR MUSIC GROUP
Try To Get Away:
"Try to Get Away" starts off smooth with serene and flowing pads, complimented by electric piano and inspirational strings. As the composition builds, it builds up with a deep, soulful vocal sample and musical, funky bassline which leads up in a crescendo to the drop where the piece achieves its driving force by means of Clart's signature chunky drumwork. Rounding out this track are a few carefluly placed samples and transitions which create a vibe full of energy, yet dripping with feeling.

DIGITAL BLUS 005 - SINISTARR - SOMETHING`S WORKING EP
DIGIBLUS005 – Something’s Working EP
Remember when High Contrast burst upon the drum ‘n bass scene, rampaging every radio station and mix with his magnificent True Colours album on Hospital Recordings? Most would agree that this was High Contrast’s first milestone to superstardom as well as a major milestone for liquid. It’s now seven years since that epic album, and a new face, Jeremy Howard (A.K.A. Sinistarr) has recreated this vibe of ultimate craftsmanship. Noticed around the globe for his majestic forte by the likes of Fabio, Bailey, DJ Hype and LTJ Bukem, Sinistarr’s future is looking bright with releases upcoming on Creative Source, Influence, Offshore, and of course, Digital Blus.
DIGIBLUS005 – Something’s Working EP
A. Sinistarr – Colli Park
B. Sinistarr – Harlem Joys
C. Sinistarr – Something’s Working
D. Sol.ID – Avian Jazz (Sinistarr Re-cut)
Colli Park:
Acoustic guitar riffs play a big part in this track. As the melody sweeps on, a laid back chord progression and bassline make this the perfect track to chill to. A bit repetitive at times, but when you’ve got a crowd on their feet dancin’ the dance, who’s going to notice? This is good music. Period.
SINISTARR - COLLIEPARK (DIGIBLUS005) by BLU SAPHIR MUSIC GROUP
Harlem Joys:
The funk and soul that trademarks Blu Saphir is definitely a major player here! Vibrant pad progressions and snappy drums move this track forward atop a catchy piano hook. This is one of Blu Saphir’s most versatile tracks, in my opinion. Many switch-ups throughout the track will keep the listener drawn in. There’s no mistake that this EP will be a hit!
SINISTARR - HARLEM JOYS (DIGIBLUS005) by BLU SAPHIR MUSIC GROUP
Something’s Working:
As my favorite track on this EP, Something’s Working is definitely a tune of great taste and incredible talent. Warm pads lay on the atmospheres while the drums remain steady throughout. The atmospherics are absolutely fantastic and give this tune depth that just seems to increase as the seconds tick by. This track has got to be one of the best I’ve heard this year. Look out for Sinistarr this year.
SINISTARR - SOMETHING´S WORKING (DIGIBLUS005) by BLU SAPHIR MUSIC GROUP
Avian Jazz Remix:
I was pretty surprised when I found out that the remix of Avian Jazz would be out on this label. The boy from Detroit layers on the sounds, featuring a harder genesis, techy squelches and more emphasis on the bassline. Superb!

DIGITAL BLUS 004 - CYBASS FEAT. ANETTE - FLOATING DREAMS / DÉJA VU
Now on their third year of forward thinking, Blu Saphir Recordings continues to expand the boundaries and change what is acceptable in the sub-genre of melodic drum & bass. The past years have spawned tech-driven basslines and slammin’ beats while being accompanied by an extremely rich atmosphere, surely turning heads from all genres amongst the inhabitants of our planet. Rio De Janeiro’s Cybass shows us many different textures in these two selections – vocals by both sexes and varied hardness. If you like soul, this is one you’ve gotta have!
DIGIBLUS004:
A. Cybass – Floating Dreams
B. Cybass feat. Annette – Déjà vu
Floating Dreams:
Digital Blus 004:
Floating Dreams brings together the old vibes of jazzstep with the modern marvels of liquid engineering. Melodic keys bring in the intro alongside a half-time feel while aa male vocalist wails it out on the mic. The feel eventually breaks, speeding up the tempo and spitting the elements straight to the dancefloor – a wonderful start to a long relationship under the gemstone.
CYBASS - FLOATING DREAMS (DIGIBLUS004) by BLU SAPHIR MUSIC GROUP
Déjà vu:
Déjà vu does a great job in showcasing Cybass’s jazz and soul influences. Beginning with a punchier drum feel, the beat immediately kicks in, featuring Annette’s magnificent voice. The lyrics make me laugh a little, but in all, this tune’s great. Double bass kicks, snares and pianos carry this track through to the end, rounding out this perfect digital release.

DIGITAL BLUS 003 - THE EGO & DJ ROOTS FEAT. DJ BASSICK - AKEMI / KIDNAPPING
Leaves have fallen and the summer has passed. The sound of the sea moves on, but atop the crest of the freshest wave, South American producer, DJ Roots gives us a pair of collaborations to dance the night away. Become entranced by the swooning rhythms and stylish vocals of “Akemi” (with The Ego) and the mystifying “Kidnapping” (with Bassick). Surely not one to be missed!
DIGITAL BLUS 003:
A. The Ego & DJ Roots – Akemi
B. DJ Roots & DJ Bassick – Kidnapping
Akemi:
Fresh off the successful release of Blu Saphir triple-collab, “Conquest System,” Roots & The Ego jump onboard the digital port with this luscious, tantalizing vocal roller. A wondrous ecstasy of jazzy scat-style sounds beef up the tune while a stream of melodic pads completes the sphere of serenity.
THE EGO & DJ ROOTS FEAT. BASSICK - AKEMI (DIGIBLUS 003) by BLU SAPHIR MUSIC GROUP
Kidnapping:
A girl wants a certain man, and there’s nothing she won’t do to acquire him. This composition might do the same if you’re not careful. Each layer sweeps its way into the previous, attempting to knock the listener off their feet. Complex pads beautify the bassline, creating waves of aural euphoria by the tune’s end.

DIGITAL BLUS 002 - KJELL - THE POISONOUS EP
Blu Saphir sister label, Digital Blus did such an exceptional job with Fluxem on Digital Blus 001, that they decided to come back with twice the ammunition from stateside newcomer, Kjell on the Poisonous EP. Four tracks of bassline-driven, melodic drum & bass spell out the formula for this magnificent release. Those who enjoyed Muffler’s Remix of “I Try” should definitely look into purchasing this one.
DIGIBLUS002 – KJELL – THE POSIONOUS EP
A. BOUNCED TAB
B. GREEN EYES
C. POISONOUS
D. THE SWONZ SPEAKS
BOUNCED TAB:
This track is exactly as its name implies, bouncy. Definitely for the dance floor, Kjell puts a bit of the modern jump-up sound into the standard melodic drum & bass you’d come to expect from a Blu Saphir release.
KJELL - BOUNCED TAB (DIGIBLUS002) by BLU SAPHIR MUSIC GROUP
GREEN EYES:
One of my favorites on the EP! There’s so much going on in this track – deep pads, articulate drums, warm symphonies and a vocal that just seems to bring the whole thing together. I’m not even a minute into the track, and already I want to dance to the heavens.
KJELL - GREEN EYES (DIGIBLUS002) by BLU SAPHIR MUSIC GROUP
POISONOUS:
Soothing pads and chubby drums bring in this splendid tune. A brilliant female vocal drops the track into a plethora of mixed brass sounds. Putting out a little something for the old skool heads, this track surely encompasses the older jazzy/Metalheadz style that’s become so prominent over the years, and while it sounds like the vocal is saying “the feel is gone,” it’s definitely not! Take a listen and judge for yourself.
KJELL - POISONOUS (DIGIBLUS002) by BLU SAPHIR MUSIC GROUP
THE SWONZ SPEAKS:
I keep thinking about how I should fly home to Chicago and get my trombone. This track calls for a solo! Opening with a seemingly flawless synth improvisation, an atmospheric saxophone is heard in the distance. At first listen, this track seems to carry the same vibe as the rest of the EP… That’s until the gritty bass comes in. It’s not overpowering though. Kjell balances out the hard/melodic elements as if he were a Zen master. Gotta big up the man! He’s relentless!

DIGITAL BLUS 001: FLUXEM - EVERYTHING / JUSTIFY
Following three years of mighty Blu Saphir tunes, we have decided to launch a sister label called “Digital Blus” dedicated to releasing the highest quality drum & bass mp3s. The main focus of the new imprint is to cater to upcoming producers who are putting out quality tracks but haven’t secured a vinyl release yet. The label will have a similar sound to the Blu Saphir parent label, housing many of the styles you’ve already become familiar with, including liquid, atmospheric and deeper minimal drum & bass.
The first release features Birmingham newcomer Fluxem with a superb duo of liquid tracks, “Justify” and “Everything”. His tracks have been played by many of the heavy hitters of the melodic side of drum ‘n bass including Chrissy Chris (1xtra), Ash Attack, Dan Marshal, Specific, Submorphics and many more. Digital Blus will be available through Beatport, Itunes, Finetunes and Trackitdown.

A. FLUXEM - EVERYTHING
AA. FLUXEM - JUSTIFY
EVERYTHING:
The crew at Blu Saphir really did a superb job in picking this release. Starting off the catalogue right, “Everyhing” features smooth, rolling rhodes dominate this track atop beautifully picked basslines and a lush female vocal. An absolute must for any liquid lover!
FLUXEM - EVERYTHING (DIGIBLUS001) by BLU SAPHIR MUSIC GROUP
JUSTIFY:
This track reminds me a bit of Marky & XRS’ older tracks. Starting out with a vivaciously picked guitar line, the rolling breaks slowly fade in bringing another amazing vocal line with it. Warm basslines carry the track throughout. Big ups on a great first release!
